How the Arts and Entertainment Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across six indicators. Nomadino calculates: museums per 100,000 people × 0.18 + UNESCO World Heritage sites × 0.18 + music and nightlife × 0.20 + cinema density × 0.16 + cultural freedom × 0.16 + football and stadium culture × 0.12.

  • Museums per 100,000 people: 18%
  • UNESCO World Heritage sites: 18%
  • Music and nightlife: 20%
  • Cinema density: 16%
  • Cultural freedom: 16%
  • Football and stadium culture: 12%

Nomadino uses normalized 0-100 ratings for all six components. Higher means that cultural infrastructure, internationally recognized heritage, going-out culture, film access, cultural freedom or lived stadium culture is stronger.

Music and nightlife receive the highest weight because they describe everyday cultural and evening life especially directly. Museums and UNESCO World Heritage sites each receive 18% because they capture long-term cultural depth and visible places to visit. Cinema density and cultural freedom each receive 16% because they describe practical cultural access and open spaces for expression.

Football and stadium culture receives a deliberate moderate weight of 12%. It is an important part of everyday culture, community and weekend life in many countries, but should not dominate a broad arts and entertainment board by itself.

If a user removes an indicator with the checkbox, Nomadino divides by the sum of the remaining weights. The active indicators therefore keep their relative importance.
