Country Comparison 2026
Nomadino compares 229 countries by cost of living, safety, taxes, culture and freedom as a neutral reference for travel, living and work.
How the Main Rating Is Calculated
The ranking combines nine categories into one main rating on a 0 to 100 scale. The categories are not weighted equally: Safety & Risk contributes 16 percent, Health 14 percent, Infrastructure and Costs 13 percent each, Finance & Taxes and Relocation & Residency 12 percent each, Society & Participation 10 percent, Lifestyle 6 percent and Travel & Vacation 4 percent.
The weighting gives more influence to the factors that matter most for a broad country assessment. Safety, health, infrastructure and recurring costs affect almost every stay directly. Finance, taxes, residency and social participation remain strongly weighted because they shape longer-term living, working and settling in. Lifestyle and Travel & Vacation remain visible, but should not move the general main rating more than basic services, safety or legal usability.
Within each category, Nomadino uses the already normalized topic and indicator ratings. If a user removes categories or topics with the checkboxes, Nomadino divides by the sum of the remaining weights so the active selection stays comparable.
Nomadino primarily uses public and internationally recognized data from institutions such as the World Bank, United Nations, OECD, WHO, ILO, Freedom House, V-Dem, Transparency International, and official statistical offices and government sources.
