How the Basic Infrastructure and Logistics Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across four indicators. Nomadino calculates: basic infrastructure and logistics score = logistics performance × 0.35 + rail network density × 0.25 + airport connectivity × 0.25 + port connectivity × 0.15.

  • Logistics performance: 35%
  • Rail network density: 25%
  • Airport connectivity: 25%
  • Port connectivity: 15%

Nomadino uses normalized indicator scores on a 0 to 100 scale, where higher means better practical connectivity and logistics. Logistics performance receives the highest weight because it broadly combines customs, transport, tracking, infrastructure quality and supply-chain performance. Rail network density and airport connectivity also receive strong weights because they shape domestic mobility and international reach directly. Port connectivity remains included, but receives a lower weight so landlocked countries are not punished too strongly simply because they have no seaports.
