How Beaches, Nature and Relaxation Are Calculated

The topic score is an equally weighted average of three indicators. Nomadino calculates: beaches, nature and relaxation = tourist beach quality × 0.3333 + swimming and water sports × 0.3333 + national parks and nature access × 0.3334.

  • Tourist beach quality: 33.3%
  • Swimming and water sports: 33.3%
  • National parks and nature access: 33.3%

This topic rates how well a country works for relaxation-oriented travel with beaches, swimming, water sports, national parks and nature access. It does not rate general safety or accommodation because those factors sit in separate topics.

The source frame mainly uses Blue Flag, Natural Earth and NOAA coastline data, OpenStreetMap and Overpass, Protected Planet and the World Database on Protected Areas, World Bank protected-area and forest data, UNESCO natural heritage, Wikidata, national tourism, bathing-water and park sources, and maintained Nomadino indicators on nature, hygiene, infrastructure, information and reachability.

All three indicators are 0-100 point values. Higher values mean better practical usability for visitors. Missing individual sources are not counted as zero; they are checked through maintained replacements and related public data anchors.
