How the Climate and Weather Score Is Calculated
The overall score is a weighted average across six indicators. Nomadino calculates: climate and weather score = temperature comfort × 0.25 + sunshine hours × 0.20 + humidity comfort × 0.15 + rainy days × 0.15 + extreme heat days × 0.15 + seasonal variation × 0.10.
- Temperature comfort: 25%
- Sunshine hours: 20%
- Humidity comfort: 15%
- Rainy days: 15%
- Extreme heat days: 15%
- Seasonal variation: 10%
Nomadino uses normalized indicator scores on a 0 to 100 scale, where higher means more pleasant, predictable and less stressful everyday weather. Temperature comfort receives the highest weight because it captures the core of climate usability. Sunshine follows because light and clear days matter for quality of life, leisure and seasonal mood.
Humidity, rainy days and extreme heat days are weighted equally because they measure different burdens: muggy or dry air, frequent precipitation and acute heat stress. Seasonal variation receives a lower weight but remains included because a stable climate helps with planning and adaptation. If an indicator is removed with the checkbox, Nomadino divides by the sum of the remaining weights, preserving the relative importance of the active indicators.
