How the Education & Knowledge Score Is Calculated

The overall score is an equally weighted average across five indicators. Nomadino calculates: adult literacy × 0.20 + PISA score × 0.20 + tertiary enrolment × 0.20 + education expenditure × 0.20 + school life expectancy × 0.20.

  • Adult literacy: 20%
  • PISA score: 20%
  • Tertiary enrolment: 20%
  • Education expenditure: 20%
  • School life expectancy: 20%

Education & Knowledge combines foundational skills, outcome quality, tertiary access, public education investment and the expected duration of the education pathway.

All five indicators receive equal weight because no single education metric should decide the board: a strong system needs basic skills, measurable learning outcomes, higher education access, funding and long enough education biographies.
