How the Entrepreneurship and Business Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across four indicators. Nomadino calculates: entrepreneurship and business score = corporate tax rate × 0.30 + startup costs × 0.25 + labor-market flexibility × 0.25 + company-registration duration × 0.20.

  • Corporate tax rate: 30%
  • Startup costs: 25%
  • Labor-market flexibility: 25%
  • Company-registration duration: 20%

Nomadino uses normalized indicator scores on a 0 to 100 scale, where higher means better conditions for starting and operating a business. Corporate tax receives the highest weight because it affects profits continuously and is more relevant over the long term than a one-off administrative step.

Startup costs are weighted strongly because they directly affect small founders, self-employed people and new companies. Labor-market flexibility is also weighted highly once a company wants to hire employees, build project teams or use flexible contract forms. Registration duration remains important, but receives a slightly lower weight because a difference of a few days is less persistent than taxes, entry costs and operational flexibility. If an indicator is removed with the checkbox, Nomadino divides by the sum of the remaining weights, preserving the relative importance of the active indicators.
