How the Finance and Tax Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across eight topic scores. Nomadino calculates: finance and tax score = macroeconomics × 0.18 + personal taxes × 0.16 + wages and purchasing power × 0.15 + investment and capital access × 0.14 + banking and fintech × 0.12 + entrepreneurship and business × 0.10 + real estate and property × 0.08 + Bitcoin and crypto × 0.07.

  • Macroeconomics: 18%
  • Personal taxes: 16%
  • Wages and purchasing power: 15%
  • Investment and capital access: 14%
  • Banking and fintech: 12%
  • Entrepreneurship and business: 10%
  • Real estate and property: 8%
  • Bitcoin and crypto: 7%

Nomadino uses normalized topic scores on a 0 to 100 scale, where higher means more financially attractive conditions. Macroeconomics, personal taxes, wages and purchasing power receive the highest weights because they shape income, prices, currency stability, tax burden and economic resilience most broadly. Investment and capital access follows directly because capital movement, investor protection, foreign investment, credit access and market depth determine whether wealth, companies and investments are practically usable.

Banking and fintech remain strongly weighted because account access, digital payments, international transfers and financial stability matter for everyday life and longer stays. Entrepreneurship and real estate remain included but are weighted lower because they depend more on the individual use case. Bitcoin and crypto receive the lowest weight because they are highly relevant for some users, but not central to every financial location decision. If a topic is removed with the checkbox, Nomadino divides by the sum of the remaining weights, preserving the relative importance of the active topics.
