How the Long-Term Stability Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across four indicators. Nomadino calculates: long-term stability score = political stability × 0.30 + economic resilience × 0.30 + government efficiency × 0.22 + climate vulnerability × 0.18.

  • Political stability: 30%
  • Economic resilience: 30%
  • Government efficiency: 22%
  • Climate vulnerability: 18%

Political stability and economic resilience receive the highest weights because political crises, currency shocks, inflation, banking stress or abrupt legal changes can directly affect long stays, property, business activity, family planning and retirement.

Government efficiency is weighted almost as strongly because stable countries need capable administration, reliable public services and crisis-response capacity. Climate vulnerability remains clearly included, but receives a slightly lower weight because it usually acts over a longer horizon and can vary substantially within a country.

Social cohesion is no longer counted in this board. It now belongs to Social System & Social Cohesion, which keeps societal cohesion separate from state and macro-stability.
