How the Public Transport Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across four indicators. Nomadino calculates: public transport score = transit coverage × 0.30 + transit punctuality × 0.25 + cycling infrastructure × 0.23 + walkability × 0.22.

Transit coverage: 30%
Transit punctuality: 25%
Cycling infrastructure: 23%
Walkability: 22%

Coverage receives the highest weight because a public transport system is useful only if it reaches enough people and places. Punctuality follows directly because connections need to be predictable. Cycling infrastructure and walkability remain almost equally important because active mobility supports short trips, last-mile mobility and car-free everyday travel. Airport connectivity was moved out of this board and assigned to basic infrastructure and logistics.
