How the Road and Traffic Infrastructure Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across five indicators. Nomadino calculates: road and traffic infrastructure score = road quality × 0.30 + traffic congestion × 0.22 + road density × 0.18 + traffic deaths × 0.18 + EV charging infrastructure × 0.12.

  • Road quality: 30%
  • Traffic congestion: 22%
  • Road density: 18%
  • Traffic deaths: 18%
  • EV charging infrastructure: 12%

Nomadino uses normalized indicator scores on a 0 to 100 scale, where higher means better road and traffic infrastructure. Road quality receives the highest weight because it describes the network condition most directly. Traffic congestion is weighted strongly because a dense network is less useful in everyday life if mobility is regularly blocked. Road density and traffic deaths remain equally important: one measures access, the other practical safety. EV charging infrastructure receives a lower weight because it matters for modern mobility, but cannot replace core road quality and traffic flow.
