How the Welcome Culture and Anti-Discrimination Score Is Calculated

The overall score is a weighted average across four indicators. Nomadino calculates: expat welcome culture × 0.30 + low foreigner discrimination × 0.28 + low xenophobia levels × 0.24 + racial safety for foreigners × 0.18.

Expat welcome culture: 30%
Low foreigner discrimination: 28%
Low xenophobia levels: 24%
Racial safety for foreigners: 18%

This board looks not at general culture, but at the concrete experience of foreigners, migrants and travelers. Welcome culture and protection from unequal treatment receive the highest weights because they shape everyday life, housing access, administration and social safety directly.

Low xenophobia adds the structural layer. Racial safety for foreigners remains separate because general foreigner acceptance does not automatically mean equal experiences for all groups.
