Composite score 0–100 covering: legal status of same-sex relationships (marriage, civil union, decriminalised, criminalised, death penalty), anti-discrimination protections, legal gender recognition, and social acceptance levels (from Gallup and ILGA-Europe data). For LGBTQ+ nomads and travellers, this is a hard constraint: 64 countries still criminalise homosexuality, and in several the penalty is death. Even where legal, social hostility can create a hostile day-to-day environment. Top scores: Netherlands (95), Belgium, Canada, Norway, Sweden. Bottom: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Mauritania, North Korea.
