Travellers entering through Changi benefit most from automation. Automated lanes use biometrics; travellers should remove sunglasses, masks or headwear that blocks facial or iris images. Children below 6 and special cases may still need manual clearance.
Transit should also be separated from entry. Someone staying airside without immigration clearance is in a different position from a visitor entering Singapore for a hotel stay, city stopover or meetings.
