How the Raw Value Is Calculated

The raw value is the share of single-person households among all households in percent. It describes how common one-person households are in housing and everyday structure.

Nomadino uses OECD family data, Eurostat household composition data, national statistical offices and maintained replacements for countries and territories without directly comparable household series.

The rating is derived directly from the raw value: 2% or less receives 0 points, while 45% or more receives 100 points. Values in between are scaled linearly.

A higher share of single-person households therefore improves the ranking. The indicator does not rate which way of living is better; it uses the value as a signal of household autonomy.
