How the Raw Value Is Calculated

The visible raw value is the latest available annual real GDP growth rate in percent. Real growth means price increases have been removed. Higher raw values receive higher scores.

Nomadino first uses the latest non-empty value from World Bank indicator NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG. This series measures annual real growth of gross domestic product in percent.

The score is calculated directly from this same visible percentage. Negative values are penalised strongly, 0% means stagnant economic output, 2% to 3% is treated as solid growth, 5% as strong growth, and roughly 8% as very strong growth.

Very high percentages remain visible as raw values and are still differentiated: 12%, 20% and 35% are not treated as the same level. Only exceptionally high current growth values receive the full 100 points. This keeps the ranking consistent with the displayed percentage.

For countries and territories without a separate World Bank series, Nomadino uses maintained percent replacement values from the existing macroeconomic data base, checked against IMF WEO, UN National Accounts, administering states and regional comparators. Replacements are marked in the source rows.

This indicator measures the current real growth rate, not prosperity level or long-term stability. GDP per capita, inflation, unemployment, wages, purchasing power, public debt, current-account balance and economic resilience remain separate or neighbouring indicators.
