Crypto Adoption in Georgia
The Crypto Adoption indicator measures how strongly cryptocurrencies are actually used in Georgia. The focus is not whether bitcoin is accepted at individual cash registers, but whether digital assets are visible in financial life: trading, transfers, stablecoins, platform use, service providers and professional infrastructure.
Georgia stands out in the Chainalysis population-adjusted view. A small country can rank strongly there when crypto activity is high relative to population size. This fits Tbilisi's role as a regional technology and founder hub, Georgia's earlier mining experience, cross-border money flows and a visible service sector for virtual assets.
What Adoption Means Here
High crypto adoption does not mean that most residents pay with bitcoin every day. It means that cryptocurrencies are used in practice: people buy or sell digital assets, hold stablecoins, transfer value across borders or use crypto as part of their wealth structure. For Georgia, this broad definition matters because activity is more visible through trading, transfer and infrastructure than through ordinary retail payments.
Limits of Adoption
Despite visible strengths, Georgia is not a fully developed mass crypto market. Much of the activity is concentrated in Tbilisi, among tech-aware users and people with international payment needs. The lari, bank cards and conventional payment providers still dominate everyday life. Crypto can be useful for trading, transfer and stablecoins, but it does not automatically solve every payment or banking problem.
How the Rating Is Calculated
The visible raw value is a Nomadino adoption value from 0 to 100 points. It combines the Chainalysis crypto adoption index, the population-adjusted Chainalysis view, ownership rates, local infrastructure, service-provider landscape, community activity and practical access to crypto services. The rating shown above is taken from the newly generated Nomadino data.
