Homicide Rate in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The homicide rate indicator measures intentional homicides per 100,000 people. For Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the measured input used here is 51.3 homicides / 100,000 people. Lower values indicate lower exposure to lethal violence.

How to Read the Value

The indicator shows elevated exposure to lethal violence. A more detailed safety check is advisable for relocation decisions.

The definition is intentionally narrow: the homicide rate measures lethal intentional violence. It does not rate pickpocketing, fraud, road safety, domestic violence, terrorism or political risk. Nomadino evaluates those topics separately in their own indicators.

Methodology and Data Basis

The primary source is World Bank series VC.IHR.PSRC.P5 based on UNODC data. For Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the latest available value from 2023 is used.

Nomadino rates lower values better. Very low homicide rates remain distinguishable, while very high values are penalised much more strongly. This makes both stable low levels and extreme violence exposure visible.

Relevance for Expats and Travellers

For relocation decisions this indicator is useful because intentional homicide is comparatively well defined across countries. Even so, it should always be combined with the other safety indicators, especially petty crime, terrorism risk, political stability and active conflicts.
