Terrorism Risk in Ukraine
This indicator assesses how strongly Ukraine is affected by terrorism. After the reassessment generated on June 12th, 2026, the raw value is 2.9 terrorism risk points. This results in a Nomadino score of 70.73/100 and rank 192 of 229. Lower raw values mean lower terrorism exposure.
What the Raw Value Measures
The raw value follows the GTI logic on a scale from 0 to 10. 0 means no measurable terrorism impact; values close to 10 indicate extreme exposure through attacks, fatalities, injuries and other consequences of terrorist violence. The score is derived directly from it: score = 100 - raw value * 10.
For Ukraine, Nomadino uses the official 2025 GTI score from the Global Terrorism Index 2026.
Context for Expats and Travellers
This indicator is intentionally narrow. It assesses terrorism, not general crime, homicide, political stability or active war. Nomadino evaluates those topics separately. A low terrorism value therefore does not automatically mean that a country is problem-free in every safety dimension. Conversely, a country can be affected by war or organised crime without having a high terrorism value.
Why Some Safe Countries Are Not Rated 0
The GTI distinguishes between countries with no measurable terrorism impact and countries with very low but non-zero exposure. A small raw value can therefore reflect a few incidents, residual weighted impact in the observation window, or minimal registered exposure. For everyday life, the scale matters: values clearly below 1 indicate very low terrorism exposure.
