Political Stability in Malaysia
The political stability indicator assesses how reliably state institutions function and how low the risk of political violence, state crises, coup dynamics or severe internal instability is. For Malaysia, the raw value is 69 stability points. The score equals the raw value, so it is 69/100; globally this means rank 91 of 229.
What the Raw Value Measures
The raw value is not a single external value, but a Nomadino stability index on a 0-100 scale. The starting point is the World Bank WGI series Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism. It is combined with current conflict exposure, terrorism risk, rule of law, police effectiveness and organised crime.
Additional caps are applied in acute situations. A country affected by active war, state failure, occupation, coup context or severe political violence cannot receive a high rating based only on older annual data. Peaceful transfers of power, normal election cycles and peaceful protests are not penalised.
Context for Stays and Relocation Decisions
Political stability is in the middle range. The country is not acutely unstable, but structural tensions, institutional weaknesses or security risks limit the value.
For expats, digital nomads and investors, this is mainly a background indicator. It does not replace current travel advisories, but it helps assess whether long stays, contracts, property, businesses or residence rights could be affected by political disruption.
